Pick one of the following assignments:

A) Describe an odd encounter that you had in Vancouver that you didn't quite understand. Perhaps there was some miscommunication that happened in a conversation. Maybe there was some clashing of cultures. Make some speculations about what happened and why. Use perfect modals in the passive voice for speculating about the past (see WS p.102).


B) Recall an interesting conversation you had with someone in Vancouver. Use indirect speech with modals when writing your conversation (see WS p.100)
